Remarkable Cure of Brain Cancer Leads to Study of Homeopathy

In this video, Gemma Hoefkens describes her amazing experience of being treated by homeopathy whilst having end stage terminal brain cancer. After conventional treatment was given to no avail, she was given months to live. Her homeopathic treatment led to a remarkable improvement to the point where she studied and became a homeopath.

Anderson Cancer Center Study: Homeopathy Shows Great Promise In Treatment of Brain Cancer

An older study at the Anderson Cancer Center showed that the homeopathic remedy Ruta caused cancer cell death. This University of Texas centre has also recently published a study showing homeopathy’s use in the treatment of cancer.

Not only that, six of seven patients with glioma who participated in the study  showed complete regression of tumors!

Here is the abstract of the study:

Although conventional chemotherapies are used to treat patients with malignancies, damage to normal cells is problematic. Blood-forming bone marrow cells are the most adversely affected. It is therefore necessary to find alternative agents that can kill cancer cells but have minimal effects on normal cells. We investigated the brain cancer cell-killing activity of a homeopathic medicine, Ruta, isolated from a plant, Ruta graveolens. We treated human brain cancer and HL-60 leukemia cells, normal B-lymphoid cells, and murine melanoma cells in vitro with different concentrations of Ruta in combination with Ca3(PO4)2. Fifteen patients diagnosed with intracranial tumors were treated with Ruta 6 and Ca3(PO4)2. Of these 15 patients, 6 of the 7 glioma patients showed complete regression of tumors. Normal human blood lymphocytes, B-lymphoid cells, and brain cancer cells treated with Ruta in vitro were examined for telomere dynamics, mitotic catastrophe, and apoptosis to understand the possible mechanism of cell-killing, using conventional and molecular cytogenetic techniques. Both in vivo and in vitro results showed induction of survival-signaling pathways in normal lymphocytes and induction of death-signaling pathways in brain cancer cells. Cancer cell death was initiated by telomere erosion and completed through mitotic catastrophe events. We propose that Ruta in combination with Ca3(PO4)2 could be used for effective treatment of brain cancers, particularly glioma.

Amazing Cures of Autism With Homeopathy

Autism, part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD), is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person’s lifetime. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects as many as 1 in every 110 children in the United States. Therefore, it is estimated that 1.5 million Americans may be affected with autism. Also, government statistics suggest the rate of autism is rising 10-17 percent annually. The parents in the video below relate their son’s autism to vaccination. But this is an excellent video describing how homeopathy made a lasting change in their son’s problem- its worth watching.

Amy Lanksy’s book An Impossible Cure is featured in this video. She too had a son with autism. She relates the successful homeopathic treatment of her son who had autism to homeopathy and wrote a book about her experience as well as others’ experiences.

At the core of Impossible Cure is the amazing story of how the author’s son was cured of autism with homeopathy. It also includes dozens of other testimonials of homeopathic cures for a variety of physical, mental, and emotional conditions.

Amy Lanksy PhD was a computer scientist leading research projects for NASA and her husband was a researcher for Apple Computer. As she says, she “was an avid devotee of modern medicine” but subsequent to her son’s “impossible cure” from autism she studied homeopathy and became a homeopathic pracititioner herself.

Good homeopathy for chronic problems requires individual case taking and prescribing. The results vary from person to person but they can be very satisfying as seen in this video. The parents in this film are not Amy Lanksy and her husband but were prompted to seek homeopathic care after reading Amy’s book.

Avatar The Movie Star’s Allergies Cured with Homeopathy

Avatar Star  Michelle Rodriquez on the December 23rd Jay Leno show said that after making the movie Lost, she developed terrible allergies. She went on to say she saw an allergist who treated her with homeopathic remedies and her allergies were gone.

It is interesting how Avatar has so much about energy healing and intuitive indigenous healing methods. Its beauty is not only in its stunning visuals but also lies in how the scientists in the end, understand and are part of saving the special culture of the inhabitants of Pandora and their energetic healing.

Homeopathy Cancer Centre Makes Research Breakthrough Showing Homeopathy Affects Cancer Cells

Dana Ullman reports that a new study done at the Amala Cancer Research Centre in India and published in the Oxford University Press journal called e-CAM  shows that homeopathy has a dramatic impact on gene expression and various cancer cells in a long term way.

Dana Ullman, who has a  Masters of Public Health writes, “Of special interest is the fact that this study has repeated shown that homeopathically potentized doses have dramatic effects on various kinds of cancer cells, not just in the short-term but the long-term. This research also shows that various homeopathic medicines have dramatic effects on gene expression (this is the type of evidence that conventional drug companies LOVE to see for their drugs…and there is increasing evidence that homeopathic medicines have this profound effect).”

ABSTRACT:
Although reports on the efficacy of homeopathic medicines in animal models are limited, there are even fewer reports on the in vitro action of these dynamized preparations. We have evaluated the cytotoxic activity of 30C and 200C potencies of ten dynamized medicines against Dalton’s Lymphoma Ascites, Ehrlich’s Ascites Carcinoma, lung fibroblast (L929) and Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines and compared activity with their mother tinctures during short-term and long-term cell culture. The effect of dynamized medicines to induce apoptosis was also evaluated and we studied how dynamized medicines affected genes expressed during apoptosis. Mother tinctures as well as some dynamized medicines showed significant cytotoxicity to cells during short and long-term incubation. Potentiated alcohol control did not produce any cytotoxicity at concentrations studied. The dynamized medicines were found to inhibit CHO cell colony formation and thymidine uptake in L929 cells and those of Thuja, Hydrastis and Carcinosinum were found to induce apoptosis in DLA cells. Moreover, dynamized Carcinosinum was found to induce the expression of p53 while dynamized Thuja produced characteristic laddering pattern in agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA. These results indicate that dynamized medicines possess cytotoxic as well as apoptosis-inducing properties.

Study Shows Homeopathy Successfully Treating Psoriasis

Updated April 13, 2009

A study of 82 patients suffering psoriasis treated with homeopathy in primary care over a period of two years shows significant improvement in their quality of life and reduction in their psoriasis symptoms. Many of the patients had suffered psoriasis for as long as 15 years and had previously unsuccessfully tried conventional treatments. The full paper of the study is published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, a conventional medical Journal.

Abstract…

Objective To evaluate details and effects of homeopathic treatment in patients with psoriasis in usual medical care.

Methods Primary care patients were evaluated over 2 years using standardized questionnaires, recording diagnoses and complaints severity, health-related quality of life (QoL), medical history, consultations, all treatments, and use of other health services.

Results Forty-five physicians treated 82 adults, 51.2% women, aged 41.6 ± 12.2 (mean ± SD) years. Patients had psoriasis for 14.7 ± 11.9 years; 96.3% had been treated before. Initial case taking took 127 ± 47 min. The 7.4 ± 7.4 subsequent consultations (duration: 19.4 ± 10.5 min) cumulated to 169.0 ± 138.8 min. Patients received 6.0 ± 4.9 homeopathic prescriptions. Diagnoses and complaints severity improved markedly with large effect sizes (Cohen’s d= 1.02–2.09). In addition, QoL improved (SF-36 physical component score d = 0.26, mental component score d = 0.49), while conventional treatment and health service use were considerably reduced.

Conclusions: Under classical* homeopathic treatment, patients with psoriasis improved in symptoms and QoL.

Homeopaths have successfully treated psoriasis with no side effects. For over 200  years homeopaths have demonstrated strategies for treating and dealing with it. Hahnemann the original founder of homeopathy, even discussed this disease as a consequence of  various genetic influences. Recent studies showing homeopathy’s safety and efficacy comes on the heels of the United States Food and Drug Administration warning that taking the psoriasis drug Raptiva could result in serious brain infections and even death.

The Food and Drug Administration cited three confirmed cases, and a possible fourth, of people diagnosed with progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) after being treated with Raptiva.

“Three of those patients have died,” the FDA said in a public health advisory. “All four patients were treated with the drug for more than three years.”

None was receiving other treatments that suppress the immune system.

Raptiva’s product labeling was revised in October to highlight a boxed warning about the risks of life-threatening infections, including PML.

“At that time, the FDA directed Genentech, the manufacturer, to develop a risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) to include a medication guide to educate patients about the drug’s risks,” the FDA’s advisory says.

In the advisory, issued Thursday, the FDA highlighted the confirmed cases and promised to “take appropriate steps” to ensure that Raptiva’s risks do not outweigh its benefits.

The FDA also said it will ensure that patients “are clearly informed of the signs and symptoms of PML” and that health care professionals “carefully monitor patients for the possible development of PML.”

Interestingly,  the drug has not been discontinued- just a warning to doctors to watch out if they find their patients start developing this serious life threatening condition as a result of taking the drug.

With a general study showing that homeopathy is safe and for the millions daily who use it, homeopathy is a logical choice for individuals suffering with such a challenging condition as psoriasis.

Finding a Good Homeopath

It is always good to get an alternative opinion and mode of treatment. Homeopaths and alternative practitioners can help balance your treatment modalities. But it can also be difficult to find the right person for your journey into alternative health.

Many of the best homeopaths, are not necessarily medical doctors, although being a medical doctor does not exclude being a good homeopath.

Most likely you have been referred by a friend who has had great results. Homeopathy, because of the overwhelming nature of Drug Company sponsored medicine is more  grass roots at the moment. Homeopathy has a wonderful track record of results and safety with over 200 years of results.

So what should you look for in a good homeopath?

Well, first you should ask some questions when you make your appointment. It is even better if the homeopath has a web site that you can look at to see where he has trained. Many homeopaths have trained at colleges and some are self trained with the addition of many courses and studying with teachers. Medical Doctor homeopaths are frequently self trained or have taken additional courses in homeopathy.

In India, and a few other countries training is different. In India, there are over 200,000 homeopaths, most have been trained in special homeopathic medical schools. In the west, this is not the case, as above.

Its important to see that individuals who are practicing are increasing their knowledge base. Both methodologies, and the number of, as well as information on homeopathic remedies is increasing dramatically. The homeopathic profession is currently rapidly evolving and changing for the better.

Some of the new training may include studying with teachers such as Rajan Sankaran, Jan Scholten, Masimo Mangliavori, Louis Klein, Will Taylor, Jeremy Sherr and teachers who are students of these teachers. Ask to see if they have recently been involved in any continuing education.

Make sure the homeopath will accept your Medical Doctor’s advice. It is important to keep your relationship with your medical doctor and to stop medications only with the advice of a medical doctor and monitoring by him/her.

Give homeopathy 2-3 visits and by the 3rd visit you should know if you have a good rapport with the homeopath and if she/he can help you and be a good resource as well as a healing modality for you.

Famous People Love Homeopathy

Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy By Dana Ullman, MPH Foreword by Dr. Peter Fisher (Physician to Her Majesty the Queen)

There is a good reason that 11 American presidents, 7 popes, Charles Darwin, J.D. Rockefeller, David Beckham, Tina Turner, and Mother Teresa have used and advocated for homeopathic treatment: homeopathy works!

The majority of people in Western society seek out conventional medical treatment, but an amazing and impressive number of cultural heroes and celebrities of the past 200 years have been treated with and raved about homeopathic medicine. Through a cutting-edge explanation of homeopathy as “nanopharmacology,” Dana Ullman’s Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy presents a strong case for this internationally respected, but often misunderstood, medical practice.

Homeopathic medicine is presently the leading alternative medicine in Europe, and Ullman is one of the foremost experts in the field. With endorsements from Larry Dossey, MD (The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things), John Robbins (Diet for a New America), C. Norman Shealy, MD, PhD (founding president of the American Holistic Medical Association), and professors at Harvard, Georgetown, and Stanford Schools of Medicine, it’s clear that Ullman is highly respected by health professionals.

The Homeopathic Revolution uncovers a veritable treasure-trove of stories from cultural heroes of the past 200 years. Of special interest are the riveting anecdotes of literary greats, sports superstars, physicians, scientists, celebrities, musicians, artists, fashionistas, corporate leaders, philanthropists, clergy, spiritual leaders, and monarchs.

Dana Ullman, America’s leading spokesperson for homeopathy, has authored 10 books on the subject, and has taught or served on advisory boards of alternative medicine institutes at Harvard, Columbia, University of Arizona, and University of Alaska. He lives in Berkeley, CA.

What is Homeopathy?

We’ll be exploring various methods of explaining homeopathy- here is one from the Society of Homeopaths:

Homeopathy: a little goes a long way…

Over thirty million people in Europe already benefit from homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy could help you too.

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a gentle, holistic system of healing, suitable for everyone, young and old. Homeopathy focuses on you as an individual, concentrating on treating your specific physical and emotional symptoms, to give long lasting benefits.

  • Homeopathic treatment works with your body’s own healing powers to bring health and well being.
  • Patients are treated as individuals, not as a collection of disease labels.
  • Homeopathy treats all your symptoms – mental, emotional and physical.
  • Homeopathic remedies are gentle, subtle and powerful.

In future entries we will profile some of the courageous teachers of homeopathy such as Rajan Sankaran, Jan Scholten, Louis Klein, Massimo Mangliavori, Jeremy Sherr, George Vithoulkas and many more.

We welcome positive comments on homeopathy and your experience with this healing modality.
