New Study Shows Homeopathy Has Impact On Musculoskeletal Disorders With Fewer Side Effects

A new study  that was published in a leading pharmacology journal shows that homeopathy has an impact on muscular skeletal disorders. The study was completed at the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, McGill University, Montreal, Canada; LA-SER Centre for Risk Research, Montreal, Canada

The study followed 1153 patients that were broken down into 3 groups- 1. those who went to a conventional doctor, 2. those who went to an MD who practiced alternative health or complimentary alternative medicine and 3. those who went to a homeopathic medical doctor. The homeopathic patients took 50 per cent less painkillers and yet experienced much benefit and of course less adverse drug effects from the conventional medications.

The conclusion of the study was “MSD patients seen by homeopathic physicians showed a similar clinical progression when less exposed to NSAID in comparison to patients seen in CM practice, with fewer NSAID-related adverse events and no loss of therapeutic opportunity.”- PubMed

A Strong Testimonial For Homeopathy

Homeopathy has helped millions of people overcome serious chronic diseases. It is a 200 year old system that has stood the test of time both in terms of efficacy and safety.

In this video, patient and British Homeopathic Association Trustee Lauren Vaknine talks about how homeopathy has helped her live a normal life. She believes that without homeopathy she would have ended up in a wheelchair due to her Rheumatoid Arthritis which she was diagnosed with at the age of 2.

The British Homeopathic Association which is the sister organisation of the Faculty of Homeopathy exists to promote homeopathy practised by doctors and other healthcare professionals. As a charity founded in 1902, the organization a long-established reputation for providing authoritative information and supporting research and training in homeopathy.

India Post Reports Over 400,000 Registered Homeopaths With An Additional 13,000 New Homeopaths Per Year

The India Post reports that both Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Medicine have gained tremendous growth in India. They also say that the World Health Organization states that  over one billion people world wide use herbal medicines and alternatives.  Many of those are  in India which has a population of about 1.17 billion people.

There are over 400,000 registered homeopaths in the country currently, with approximately 13,000 more being added every year.

Amrit Kalsi, Senior Medical Officer, Delhi Government, says, “The demand for Homeopathic and Ayurvedic medicines has increased in the last few years and to cure chronic ailments such as respiratory diseases, fevers, skin diseases, viral infections, asthma and allergic disorders, people are choosing the traditional way of treatment before allopathic.”

There were 28 homoeopathic dispensaries in Delhi in 1978 and the number now has gone up to 78. The number of patients taking homeopathic medicines has increased from around 800,000 patients in 1997 to 13,620,174 patients in 2006, she adds.

India is considered one of the largest emerging markets yet the pharmaceutical industry markets have only grown 13-15 per cent against a 25-30 per cent growth for homeopathy. The fact that homeopathy is such a beloved health treatment modality attests to its history of safety and effectiveness around the world but especially in India. Pharmaceutical company sponsored organizations attacking homeopathy  have no ground to stand on in India and thus they have instituted attacks in countries such as England with the hope that it will have an impact on emerging markets in India and Africa.

New Scientific Experiment Proves Homeopathic Dilutions Have Effect

Scientists replicating earlier experiments but using modern scientific methodologies has confirmed that homeopathic potentized dilutions are active. The study was published recently and is entitled: Inhibition of CD203c membrane up-regulation in human basophils by high dilutions of histamine: a controlled replication study.
Results
Membrane up-regulation of CD203c, which in these experimental conditions proved to be a more consistent activation marker than CD63, was significantly inhibited in samples treated with histamine at the dilutions of 2C (P = 0.001), 12C (P = 0.047), 14C (P = 0.003), 15C (P = 0.036) and 16C (P = 0.009). Control water dilutions/succussions did not show any significant effect.
Conclusion
Using a strictly standardized flow cytometry protocol and a new dilution/succussion procedure, we have shown that low and high dilutions of histamine inhibit CD203c up-regulation in anti-IgE stimulated basophils.

The online paper also describes the history of this type of experiment starting with a scientist named Benveniste and how modern methods have now shown indisputably that  homeopathic high dilutions that are potentized have effect and that this experiment can be replicated successfully.

Finding a Good Homeopath

It is always good to get an alternative opinion and mode of treatment. Homeopaths and alternative practitioners can help balance your treatment modalities. But it can also be difficult to find the right person for your journey into alternative health.

Many of the best homeopaths, are not necessarily medical doctors, although being a medical doctor does not exclude being a good homeopath.

Most likely you have been referred by a friend who has had great results. Homeopathy, because of the overwhelming nature of Drug Company sponsored medicine is more  grass roots at the moment. Homeopathy has a wonderful track record of results and safety with over 200 years of results.

So what should you look for in a good homeopath?

Well, first you should ask some questions when you make your appointment. It is even better if the homeopath has a web site that you can look at to see where he has trained. Many homeopaths have trained at colleges and some are self trained with the addition of many courses and studying with teachers. Medical Doctor homeopaths are frequently self trained or have taken additional courses in homeopathy.

In India, and a few other countries training is different. In India, there are over 200,000 homeopaths, most have been trained in special homeopathic medical schools. In the west, this is not the case, as above.

Its important to see that individuals who are practicing are increasing their knowledge base. Both methodologies, and the number of, as well as information on homeopathic remedies is increasing dramatically. The homeopathic profession is currently rapidly evolving and changing for the better.

Some of the new training may include studying with teachers such as Rajan Sankaran, Jan Scholten, Masimo Mangliavori, Louis Klein, Will Taylor, Jeremy Sherr and teachers who are students of these teachers. Ask to see if they have recently been involved in any continuing education.

Make sure the homeopath will accept your Medical Doctor’s advice. It is important to keep your relationship with your medical doctor and to stop medications only with the advice of a medical doctor and monitoring by him/her.

Give homeopathy 2-3 visits and by the 3rd visit you should know if you have a good rapport with the homeopath and if she/he can help you and be a good resource as well as a healing modality for you.

Famous People Love Homeopathy

Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy By Dana Ullman, MPH Foreword by Dr. Peter Fisher (Physician to Her Majesty the Queen)

There is a good reason that 11 American presidents, 7 popes, Charles Darwin, J.D. Rockefeller, David Beckham, Tina Turner, and Mother Teresa have used and advocated for homeopathic treatment: homeopathy works!

The majority of people in Western society seek out conventional medical treatment, but an amazing and impressive number of cultural heroes and celebrities of the past 200 years have been treated with and raved about homeopathic medicine. Through a cutting-edge explanation of homeopathy as “nanopharmacology,” Dana Ullman’s Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy presents a strong case for this internationally respected, but often misunderstood, medical practice.

Homeopathic medicine is presently the leading alternative medicine in Europe, and Ullman is one of the foremost experts in the field. With endorsements from Larry Dossey, MD (The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things), John Robbins (Diet for a New America), C. Norman Shealy, MD, PhD (founding president of the American Holistic Medical Association), and professors at Harvard, Georgetown, and Stanford Schools of Medicine, it’s clear that Ullman is highly respected by health professionals.

The Homeopathic Revolution uncovers a veritable treasure-trove of stories from cultural heroes of the past 200 years. Of special interest are the riveting anecdotes of literary greats, sports superstars, physicians, scientists, celebrities, musicians, artists, fashionistas, corporate leaders, philanthropists, clergy, spiritual leaders, and monarchs.

Dana Ullman, America’s leading spokesperson for homeopathy, has authored 10 books on the subject, and has taught or served on advisory boards of alternative medicine institutes at Harvard, Columbia, University of Arizona, and University of Alaska. He lives in Berkeley, CA.

Homeopathy- A better choice for treatment

Homeopaths have a good track record for the treatment of both chronic and acute disease. A meta analysis proved that homeopathy worked effectively for the treatment of various diseases.  A medical journal published a dishonest analysis of double blind experiments and then other dishonest scientists blasted away at homeopathy. But homeopathy has a great track record for the treatment and most people are referred to homeopaths by other successful patients.

Considering that the New York times just published an article that said the majority of deaths in Florida were from prescription drugs, its time for an alternative that is successful and doesn’t have the side effects of conventional medicine. Homeopaths will recommend that you stay on your medications and only go off them with the advice of your physician.
